What the hell is wrong with Bloxster?!?!? The blogs that hold my links and contact page are now gone and they did not even have the decency to inform me beforehand about their sudden deletion.

Unfortunately, I have not saved back-up files of their templates. What irritates me more is that all those bookmarked links (which took me months to accumulate) might have been forever deleted into oblivion. Crap!

I've already emailed Support to alert them of this 'tragedy' and I am very much hoping they can do something about it fast. Otherwise... I might as well transfer to another site who can host this blog more efficiently.

Hi we removed your other 2 weblogs because there were less then 2 entries in there for a long time.

We had a serious spam problem and things got out of hand. Now we are back in control. Your weblogs which are removed can not be restored, however feel free to replace them, you are on the safelist now. If you wish to move to another weblog host feel free to do so. We are very sorry you are a victim of others abusing our service. If we didn't respond to this serious problem yesterday, the whole site was closed down. Informing users is not easy since everbody uses fake email addresses most of the time, so we didn't bother to do it.We got a lot of requests for a user forum so we made it. We informed all our users and guess what?, not a single response. Leahjopek we want this weblog service to be the best, and we want our service to be free for all. You are very unlucky, we are very sorry for that, but we had to take this action. If we lose you to another service we regret it but then thats the way it is.

Your links page is cached. Search for leahjosephlinks and open the cached link. But do it soon cos I'm not sure when the cache will get updated/flushed.

Sorry for the multiple comments but that first comment from (I assume) your blog host ***** is just atrocious. Talk about an apology that isn't really an apology! Sometimes I think the worst customer service I've ever seen is from web service providers. Honestly, a bit of humility for clobbering your pages without backup would have been nice, as opposed to "We did what we had to, couldn't be bothered telling you cos you know, 80% of people give us fake e-mail addresses so it would be a tragedy if 80% of our notification e-mails bounced, angering 20% of our most decent customers but hey, we'll OFFER them to leave if they want." Anyway, I understand what the ***** was saying but...sheesh. I think they need to hire some PR staff.

Like I said, thank god for Google!!! :-)

@ KAT O+: Thanks for the sympathies and the heads up on how I can retrieve those templates. I was able to still get the cache and save a copy of the codes. A BIG 'Thank You' talaga!!! :D

It's a bit frustrating though how bloxster dealt with this. I hope it doesn't happen anymore in the future.
